When I read the headlines this morning and saw "Man fined for puzzling hotel pig toss," I just knew this had to be one of the southern states.

Sure enough, once I opened it, I discovered this happened in Mississippi.

For some reason the reporter doesn't ask why a person would be bringing a pig to a hotel in the first place.  I guess we're left to assume this is common place in the south and the only thing odd is that he tossed it over the counter.

And before you flame me, I am from the South and live in Louisiana.  I couldn't be more embarassed

The Raid website at www.killsbugsdead.com says "Find the right Raid® tool to help you keep your home pest free."  I couldn't however find a tool to keep your home free of the lovers of cheating spouses. 

That didn't deter this Athens woman.  After getting a call from a nosey neighbor that her husband was at home having an affair with another woman, she returned home and did what any reasonable person would do.  She picked up a can of pest remover and proceeded to remove the pest.

She was arrested for domestic violence after picking up a can of Raid and hitting her husband and lover over the head with it.

So, you go for a stroll through a Wal-Mart parking lot.  You happen upon a couple of vehicles parked near the back of the lot or way off to the side and it seems no one is looking.  You notice a purse, camera and a few other desirables in plain view within the car.  So you smash the window and help yourself.

You get away with it and no one suspects anything different.  It's time to go shopping with the credit cards you found in the purse.  In all your infinite wisdom, you go back to the same Wal-Mart store whose parking lot you stole the cards from and try to use them.

Imagine the look on his face when he realized he was locked in.  This thief broke into an appliance repair van.  He then entered it and shut the doors while he gathered some tools.  The child safety system automatically locked the doors and thief was unable to get to the driver door because of a steel cage that was installed.  The thief sat there until an employee arrived the next morning and called the police.

One of my favorite sayings is that it is better to have been thought an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it.

This poor schmuch was painting his house when he decided to sit down and take a short break and smoke a cigarette.  When he was done, he did the right thing and tried to snuff out his cigarette.  Only thing is that he tried to snuff it in a bowl of paint thinner.

This phrase takes on an entirely new meaning after reading this article.  This man apparantly wanted to excercise his right to remain silent and so as he was being taken away after being arrested, he bit off his own tongue and spit it out at officers.

Imagine trying to explain this one to your kids, wife, lawyer or the bail bondsman.  Or better yet, imagine being the detective told that you have to investigate an important theft case to find out someone is reporting theft of horse manure.  Aparantly, in some Amish areas, there are horse rails, busy no less, at the Wal-Mart, CVS and other important shopping destinations.  And you probably guessed it, someone is stealing horse manure.  Worse yet, no one really wants the manure, it would probably be free for the taking.  But aparantly someone just picks it up, drops a little on the way out and pisses off some lady who normally cleans this stuff up.
